Here are the guidelines and terms of our site. If you are a new member here, we welcome you to EIOG. The things listed here will help you get an understanding of how things work and what's expected of our members.
The most basic and fundamental rule is that we ask all our members to treat each other with respect. We're all here for at least one common interest and we try to keep this place an enjoyable community. We always encourage our members to speak their minds, but do so with a level of respect to other people's opinions.
This forum will be full of assholes who love to be assholes. If you’re new there is a chance someone is going to tell you off, or ridicule you in some way. Usually people here aren’t dickheads unless you do something that gets on someones nerves. If that’s the case, it’s your fault, not the person bitching at you. Of course you can always get in touch with a moderator if you have any problems.
Rules & Regulations
- Posting
- We suggest that all members keep the default font when replying. It makes reading replies easier on everyone, and doesn't make you look like an attention-whore. Mods will reformat any posts back to the default
- Avoid adding pointless posts that add nothing to the topic or have no relevance to the thread. Your warning can be increased if a moderator feels you are abusing any of the features we make available.
- Before making a new thread, be sure to Search for an existing topic.
- Sending members unsolicited messages is also prohibited and your account will be banned if reported. No one wants to be bugged by stuff they're not really interested about.
- Signatures & Avatars
We do have size limits on both signatures and avatars. It's important that we respect that people will often visit this forum while at work or school, and we don't need inappropriate images popping up to make uncomfortable situations for other members. If your avatar or signature is too large or inappropriate, a moderator will get in touch with you and ask you to replace it. We reserve the right to remove your avatar or signature entirely.
We try to give everyone a fair shot before being warned, and mods will usually ask members to stop whatever they're doing before applying a warning. When you are warned, a moderator will usually send you a message to let you know why you were warned. In the event that you are warned, you always have a chance to get it reduced by not getting into any trouble for one month. Every month we will decrease warnings by 10% if we see an obvious improvement.
We do reserve the right to immediately ban or suspend your account if we feel that you're just here to cause shit.
If you have any questions or problems you can check out the Troubleshooting forum. If you require immediate assistance you're always more than welcome to send a message to an active moderator (indicated in orange in the active members list).
