I thought it might be cool if we like went threw the chapters and said what WE THOUGHT of the commentary in the book or what? Kind of like Oprah's book club except we read stuff we like not what she likes.

I think the Way I am was more focused on music and how he wrote, and what inspired him to write, then his personal life, it was briefly touched on, but not much. There of course is the "i am a proud father" chapter and a bit about his girls but not much which is understandable because people are crazy, and he does mention that him and Kim have come to some sort of truce. The mother is not mentioned more then likely because he is still apparently working threw his anger with her. I sometimes wonder why he is not more angry with his father for leaving him with an ill equiped mother and not caring of his well being then at a obviously messed up women of her own. I mean we do not know the circumstances of Debbies childhood and we do not know her sorrows but we do know he is very angry with how she raised him.

Well..If if Debbie had a effed up childhood that doesn't justify how she raised Em . One of our members has read Debbie's book maybe he could guide us here

Childhood has bearings on adulthood, if she had crappy parents, and isn't a very strong person, she is only going to replicate what she knew. George Herbert Mead describes how social behaviorism dictates social experience, he is a pioneer to sociology. For us to say OKay this is Eminem's story and it is the only story that is accurate is something perhaps a TRUE FAN in some eyes would say, but for someone who is educated in psychology and sociology they will say, well what was the parents childhood life like and how did they either improve or regress as parents themselves, does that EXCUSE her? Not totally. But i know this much, my mother was raised by fairly decent parents, and was awful. Now that she is dead, i feel more free to be myself, and i don't feel judged by her life. That's a hard thing. To me, I would like to go, okay, well these were her tools, and this was her weakness, and that is the reason, does that JUSTIFY the ending? No, but it helps to understand the variables to a psyche in question.

err...i don't care how bad she was , but I surely do know that if Debbie really hated Em as much as Eminem has said she did , she would have killed him . think about it. Eminem himself told , that he takes problems in his life and stretches them as far as he can . If she would abandoned Eminem and left him on the streets , me and you wouldn't have known a person named Marshall Mathers

I do not feel so much hatred towards her, but i at the same token do not feel much safety from her either, i believe it may be safe to say, it was a tough childhood.
