It's much harder now for a single to enter at No. 1, as radio airplay will usually enable a song to debut at lower rank. But as Spears and Eminem have proven, instant reaction with a huge sales number can trigger a perfect storm and prompt a No. 1 entry right out of the gate

That is awesome, sorry i am late, i was very tired after my last final and came home to take a nap. That is not the only person that said something was a perfect storm, the lady that was exonerated for supposedly molesting two female kindergarden children said she was set up in a "perfect storm" apparently that is now the "it" term. It is a good song, it isn't as complicated in verbal artwork by far as his previous songs, but sometimes hope sells best simple because hope is simple

The Story behind the Not Afraid beat
"That beat was done last summer in my basement in the late afternoon. Just me and my dude Matt having fun, playing around with some instruments, cracking jokes. He was playing the strings and the choir. I added the percussion and the arrangement. I sent it to one of [Maino’s] A&Rs and they played it for him. At first, Maino liked it. He actually did a song on it last year. And after that, I never heard anything back from them. That was just a situation where I’ll make a beat and an artist will say they like the beat. They’ll say, “We got to do something with it.” But they don’t end up using it. So you don’t really wait on anybody. If anybody else wants to use it, they’ll want to use it. But on the Internet and a lot of people are saying that the beat was sold twice and it was shady or whatever. Like I said, beats don’t get sold twice. It’s just something that happens in the industry all the time but doesn’t get out there a lot. You know like, Cam’Ron had the “H To The Izzo” beat first but then Jay-Z came and did his song on it. That’s just how the game goes.
"So the beat was floating around but the beat wasn’t purchased or anything. Then [Eminem] heard the beat and got on it immediately. He ended up buying the beat, putting everything down, and putting it on his album. The beat sounds like he’ll do something serious on it. I figured he’d make a deep song, or an emotional song on it. He put the piano in there. He added that and the church choir singing along with him. So three months ago, we were at dinner and my manager, Fake Work, got a text from Eminem’s manager, Paul Rosenberg, that said, 'Eminem just bodied this beat!'"

Confirmed producer on Eminem's upcoming "Recovery" album, Jim Jonsin, recently gave some insight on his contribution for the project and even spoke on Eminem's work ethic. "I heard some songs, he played me some music and it was incredible," Jonsin said about working with Em. "I can say he was great to work with, super cool and laid back, funny guy too, he's got jokes. The music that we did together, I was hoping to do more than the one record we have and I believe we have a very strong song, it could be a single...To me, he's got something strong and I just want to leave it at that...It's a real song, it's different for myself, the direction. It's a direction I haven't gone yet...He knows what he wants. He kinda knows as far as even from the mixing standpoint. He's on it...He let us do our thing but he did his thing and gave us some insight. He had some questions about the lyrics because he can be a bit aggressive and ask if it can be used for radio -- I'm in there with Eminem, so my thing is this guy is a superstar...The guy is very talented."

That beat to Halo and a Kelly Clarkson song were similar also. I forgot who made it but it was some guy at Interscope. He also did the song Apologize to One Republic
